It's nearing blossom season and I can hardly wait! Being a family and senior photographer in Utah, I've learned to familiarize myself with the bloom patterns of the local vegetation. Blossoms in April, Lilacs in May, Poppies in June and July and August is wildflower season! The anticipation and "kick off" of all things colorful and pretty starts with the Cherry blossoms at the Utah State Capital. My photo groups on Facebook for the next month will solely consist of "blossom watch" posts, where we fill each other in on the status of the blooms. Last year was my first year shooting there and I instantly fell in love with it and understood right away why it was such a popular place. Bear was gracious enough to model for me and be my "test dummy" for my location scouting. Bear and I roomed together our first year of college in Rexburg. The bonding that happened in our dorm was filled with fun memories and plenty of mooning each other. Last spring Bear had just moved from California to Utah and our shoot was the first time we had seen each other in awhile. The grounds were packed with families and other photographers, (hello Monday night fhe! haha!) but we were able to get all the shots we wanted. It was such a perfect evening and I'm still obsessing over our photos a year later! I even entered some of them in the Shoot and Share Photo Contest and one of them placed!
