I may be pretty biased, but I make cute babies. And while I don't specialize in newborn photography, I love getting to take baby pictures from time to time - especially when it's with my own. Fields was eight days old when we had our little photoshoot, and it was Danny's first day back to work since having him. In order to ease into my transition of two kids, Danny dropped Jones off at my amazing mother in laws on his way to work. It was just me and baby all day - the perfect opportunity for a photoshoot. I've talked before about "photographer's child syndrome" (where the photographer's kids want nothing to do with pictures) let's just say that it is alive and well with Fields. ha. Poor little guy just wanted to eat and be held. But for the 15 minutes of shooting I think we did pretty good! 

     For my set up, since I have found that I prefer lifestyle newborns as opposed to posed, I simply used my bed. In our master bedroom we are blessed with a mini porch that translates to a sliding glass door - aka a giant window of yummy north facing light! I simply put out my white sheet set, and I'm good. Since I'm a weird plant lady, hippy, Oregonian I also included some greenery for a few of the pictures. For the rest of the set up I used a newborn wrap from my stash, swaddle that I made and bunny that the Easter Bunny brought Fields. (Jones has a matching bigger one) There's just something about a sleepy baby swaddled up and draped with natural light.
