Ever since becoming a "Parks and Rec" fan, I have wanted to host a Galentines party and go full Leslie Knope on my friends. After talking it over with my best friend, I decided that this would be the year. To prep for the party planning, I watched every single Galentines episode. The first one aired starts off with Leslie and her friends sitting down to eat brunch. She had made them all a gift bag. The first thing they pull out is a mosaic Leslie made of them all, made out of glass from their "favorite brand of diet soda." Seeing that scene again got all the sparks flying. I decided, that in leu of the mosaic, I'd watercolor a portrait of each of my friends. Wanting the swag bags to be full of goodies, I reached out to some local brands I love. Bath Bomb Squared donated a bath bomb for each attendee, Kortni Jeane gave us sunscreen sticks and stickers, Jolley's (the 1700 S and 1100 E Location) donated tons goodies, including bracelets, stationary, decor and more! I also bought some heart stamped necklaces from Karli Customs in honor of Galentines and I whipped up a quote graphic and found a cute printable online. Thanks to these guys, the party was a hit!
I hosted the event at my place and decorated my dining room in full on valentines decor. In honor of Leslie Knope, we had a waffle bar with tons of fruit and toppings to choose from. To finish off our meal, I had gotten some lemon cookies that were just the right amount of "light" that we needed after a heavy meal. It was such a fun night! It turns out, that it was a much needed girls night, too! We all swapped dating stories and caught up with each other. I'm hoping this becomes a yearly tradition! Thank you again to everyone who helped make this possible!
