DIY Daisy Chain | Whitney Beth Photography
As a little girl, (heck even now as an adult) my kryptonite was a patch of daisies. I just couldn't help myself and would end up with a small bouquet that would eventually turn into a daisy chain crown. I was telling this to Jones as we watered the flower garden and he wanted me to make him a crown for his bunny, Bun - Bun. It turned into a fun little moment between us as we gathered the blooms and I showed him how to make the slits, that I thought it might be fun to photograph the process!
1. Gather your daisies (or any flower - just make sure the stem is thicker than your fingernail.)
2. Using your fingernail (or a razor blade) carefully slice into the stem vertically - making a slit about a centimeter long
3. Thread a new flower stem through the slit you just made.
4. Using your fingernail again, make a new slit in the new flower you've added to the chain.
5. Thread the next flower through the new hole.
6. Continue this process until you have reached your desired length. To close off the chain, slip the bloom of the first flower through the last slit you've made to complete the chain.
7. Using scissors (or your fingernail) cut off and trim the excess stems to clean up the chain.
8. You're done! *Optional; add in more flowers to the slits to fill in the chain and make it more substantial
