Nothing says summer time like extended family photoshoots! You laugh, but it's true! Summer is my number one season for extended family shoots since everyone is always getting together for reunions and vacations. I'm lucky enough to live in the same circle as Sara and Tom, who referred me to Sara's mom. Our boys are always playing together and are out riding bikes, which is perfect since all but one of the kids knew me! We opted for a morning photoshoot so that we wouldn't be competing with bed times. This also worked to our advantage in that I was able to go home, edit the pictures and have them ready for their viewing and ordering appointment same day! Crucial for those out of staters! The morning light was beautiful and the Moyles came dressed and coordinating so nicely! I had the best time playing games and getting the kids to look for my lady bug friend. (If you know, you know.) Poor little Tilly was not having it, but lucky for her, she got to try her first ever smarty! haha! She like the candy enough to settle down and we were able to get some cute smiles by the end. Since I know the kids and Sara and Tom pretty well, I knew that their boys were suuuper into Pokemon. So the night before the session I stopped over at Dollar Tree and picked up four packs of cards. (Deff a perk to getting to know your photographer.) Towards the end when the kids were getting squirrley I started telling them that I had a super cool surprise and that at the verrrry end they could get it. Worked like a charm! I even got packs for the two little girls since I didn't want them to feel left out. I had the best time and these pictures turned out gorgeous! Best part? Just like with every session, I feel like I walked away with a ton of new friends! I am so excited for their albums and prints to arrive! They are going to love having them to look back on!
