Big Cottonwood Canyon Extended Family Pictures | Green | Whitney Beth Photography

What can I say about the Green family? They are some of the kindest, most genuine people you will ever meet. Cherie actually found me through Pinterest and wanted family pictures taken based off of a session I had blogged at Jordan Pines. The only day that would work for the entire family was scheduled to rain in the valley and snow up the canyon. In fact, that morning I had another session where I ended up drenched from the downpour. I rarely reschedule photoshoots due to weather in Utah, because it’s Utah. The day before the shoot I suggested we move up our time an hour, since it’d be cloudy from the storm anyways. Instead of starting at 5, we started at 4. When we pulled up to the parking lot it was a bit chilly, but no rain or snow! And since we had started earlier than the “norm” for shooting there, we had the place relatively to ourselves - which is a miracle in itself for a Saturday in fall. The family was great and listened so well. We busted out all the combinations of photos we could think of as well as individuals of each of the grandkids. Start to finish, one hour! We ended the shoot with a casual family picture in the middle of the meadow, followed by a fun, walking one. As soon as I took the last picture it started to snow. At 5 pm. The original start time of our shoot! How lucky is that! As we were all gathering our stuff to head back, I heard one of Cherie’s grandson’s ask him mom if he could do a shirtless picture. (He is a wrestler in High School and very proud of himself lol) In fact, he had been asking at random times to his mom throughout the entire shoot and I had overheard it. So as we were getting ready to leave, I look at him and say, “Parker, you still want that shirtless pic?” And before anyone knows what was happening, Parker ripped off his shirt and started flexing. It was hilarious with the cheers from his family looking on. Had I known what kind of smile I would get from him, I would’ve done it first thing! These guys look incredible with the last of the peak fall color in the canyons before the storm came through.
