Lizzyography's Commercial Workshop | Whitney Beth Photography

This past week I was able to attend the last of it's kind, Lizzy's commercial photography workshop. I've had a few friends take Lizzy's workshop and they all described it as, "drinking from a fire hose." And they weren't kidding. Ha! Lizzy was kind enough to give us all notebooks for our notetaking pleasure -  I literally filled that thing past the halfway seam. Knowing myself, I knew that I needed to take good notes, and it was a good thing I did, because I left for home that first day not even really sure of what my name and favorite color was. But in all seriousness it was so good and I left feeling so inspired and ready to take on the world.

If I had to break down the class into three takeaways, they would be; there are plenty of potential clients out there, be a problem solver and price yourself accordingly.

Lizzy lit a fire, not just in me, but in the whole class. It was a breath of fresh air to have her be so transparent in her own business so that I could see which direction I needed to take mine. The second day of class was a two hour shoot. We had 5 different children models as well as an influencer. Each of them modeling 2-3 outfits. It was a whirlwind of a shoot fueled by chaos and shutter sounds. It was so crazy (in a good way) that by the end of the shoot I was so sweaty and started having round ligament pain (thanks pregnancy lol) and I took literally 1,000 pictures.

Lizzy still plans to teach, but it won't be in this format again. She plans to break it down into smaller segments - that being said I would def recommend anything from Lizzy. Homegirl knows her stuff and (most importantly) knows how to get what she needs - whether it's more clients, higher prices, perks for your models, etc. It was refreshing and incredibly helpful for me, who has a pretty good understanding of how to run a profitable business, to have someone like Lizzy tell you literally what you need to do and how you need to do it to break into the commercial photography world.

I try to invest in at least one thing every year for my education and to further my growth as a photographer and business woman. I am so incredibly happy with my attendance in Lizzyography's workshop and the knowledge I've learned from those two days. Thanks Lizzy!
