My Ensign Peak Maternity Pictures | Whitney Beth Photography | Utah Family Photographer

A couple of weeks ago I had my maternity pictures taken for this rainbow baby boy of mine. One of the hard parts about my job is that I have so many talented friends! I've been slowly cycling through them to photograph my family's milestones. Clarissa over at Evolve Photography did so good! I'm obsessed with these! Originally I wanted to shoot in the lilacs and centered my entire plan around a secret hedge I had found last year. But when I went to check on it to see how the blooms were progressing, I was heartbroken to see it freshly bulldozed for a new construction site. (RIP lilacs) So, I pivoted. Luckily I didn't have to change much of our outfits to accommodate our new location; Ensign Peak! You guys all know I'm a sucker for whatever flower is in in bloom, and this time I was able to actually utilize the yellow wildflowers at their peak bloom. I had a few other locations I was monitoring for them, but Ensign Peak was the first up to bloom and still fit in our scheduled day of pictures. (And lucky for me it's not too terrible of a hike to do 7 1/2 months pregnant lol.) Every maternity session I've had done so far has included some time of floral crown (holly berry and pine for Jones, and spring cherry blossom for Fields) This time I ditched the solo crown and wore a felt hat - with some dainty white flowers woven into the band. (I just can't help myself.) I actually purchased this dress specifically for maternity pictures pretty early on in my pregnancy and it was the perfect amount of neutral to (luckily) work with whatever location I chose. Jones' shirt was the only thing I bought new and specifically for the shoot. Everything else was a combo of already owning it or bought for Easter/birthday pictures. Nice and easy, just the way I like it! We stayed up on the mountain for about an hour, just chatting and having a grand 'ol time taking pictures. I strategically hired Clarissa since she and Danny go way back - like back to preschool back. My mother in law used to teach her, Danny and the rest of the neighborhood kids preschool back in the day. So sneaky me thought it'd be more enjoyable for Danny to have one of his childhood friends there with us to catch up with. I have to say, I think my plan worked!

Speaking of Danny and I, today is our NINTH wedding anniversary! Crazy to think that it's been that long since we've been married, but also feel like it's been so fast! We've done a lot of things together in our 9 years and I can't wait to see what else comes about our life together. It seemed fitting that I share our next milestone in pictures today (before it gets outdated in a few weeks!) Here are my very favorites from our shoot with Clarissa! Scroll and enjoy! I can't wait to see who our little rainbow baby grows up to be and I love that I have these pictures with my boys before the change in dynamic. Thanks for taking them Clarissa!
