Still processing how I have a Kindergartener! Jones is loving school so much, and even though I miss him while he's gone, I'm loving the structure of a schedule. I signed Jones up for morning kinder - even though my tired, newborn caring self would have loved not having to worry about getting out the door for school until afternoon, but that's why I did it. You see, I am not a morning person. I love staying up late and sleeping in. But I've also learned I am way less productive when I do that. So instead, we wake up early and start our day. Which has been great! The boys usually wake up and play a bit before I'm up with Remmy and then we get moving. This schedule and structure has also helped develop a morning routine. I work out from home on MWF and do it while Jones is in class. Tuesdays and Thursdays I train with my sister Julie (who's a personal trainer) after Kinder pick up. It's been so hard, but so great to start getting my body put back together again. And truth be told, I needed something consistent for me.
Jones is loving life right now. My little social guy was SO excited and so eager to go to school and learn! When he met with his teacher to do an evaluation before school started she asked him what he was most excited about for Kindergarten. He replied, "Learning!" When asked what he wanted to learn more about, he said, "Jesus! ... and numbers!" Everyday he comes home telling me the names of new friends he's made and what he learned. He has such a big energy about him - which comes with big emotions. At the end of the day Jones is so wiped out that we've had to help him take a step back and to remember that our brains need breaks. On days that he doesn't slow down, we have a lot more melt downs. But now that we've got our second week under our wings, he's doing so good at regulating himself.
I'm so proud of Jones and love watching him grow up to be the best little boy! Fields and Remmy are also reaping the rewards for being the littles left at home. I try and make sure that our mornings together have some play time so that I'm not just using it all to get stuff done. Fields has really stepped up to the plate as big brother! He loves loving on Remington and is such a good helper! So even though I can't believe I am at this stage of life, I think we've got a pretty good handle on it! So excited to watch my boys learn and grow!
