Why I Print Your Pictures | Salt Lake City Family Photographer

When I rebranded a few years ago, I knew I wanted to use that opportunity to change. I restructured my entire business to be a full service photographer. Full service means exactly what it sounds like; the whole sha-bang. I like to tell my clients I am with them every step of the way, from helping pick out outfits and designing their shoot, to handing them prints and canvas, or whatever the heck they ordered, knowing exactly where it would be on display in their home. But why sell prints? It is an extra step, more time intensive, and a lot harder than just sending a digital gallery and being done. The first five+ years of Whitney Beth Photography, that is exactly what I did. Edit the photos, and send off the gallery, done. So why the change?

When I was little, I used to thumb through the family albums and look at all the pictures my mom had taken. As I grew up, this past time only grew to involve my siblings. I loved the feel of a print in my hand. To be able to physically hold a memory. There is something so wonderful and magical about memories in print that you don't get the same effect with on a screen. I wanted my clients to have that luxury. I wanted them to smile when visitors come to their homes and talk about the photographs that don their walls. To be able to show their children photos of them in various stages of life.

My Grandparents on their wedding day

Life is busy, moms are even busier. Finding time to print their photos was usually pushed to the back burner. Leaving only their online footprint to show off their beautiful pictures. By providing this service to my clients, I'm saving them time. I'm helping tell their story. How many times have you looked at the photos of your grandparents and imagined when they were younger? You can do that because not only are their photographs printed, but they were printed professionally. Grandma didn't have her pick of chains to print half a dozen prints at, she went through her photographer who knew what he was doing. When I print your images, not only will they be ready for display, but they will last, just like grandma's. Not all prints are created equal, but mine are exceptional. I worked hard finding pro labs that I use and trust for my clients special memories. All my labs use archival quality materials that are made to last. So you can hang your portraits right next to Grandma's and not have to worry about time taking it's toll of them.

I do what I do because I love you guys. I want you to document your life, tell your story and have a way for it to be remembered. When people give me a hard time about having their photo taken, I like to pull the family history card. You are doing your present day family history. These aren't just for you, but for every member of your family that will come after you, who will be curious what your life was like and how you lived. (Probably even make fun of the way we dressed.) They will help draw you closer to your family. Prints are important. I want to help preserve your story. I do it for you.
