And they are married!!! I'm so happy for Austin and Jenna! Today, September 26th, 2018, in the Utah Draper LDS temple, these two promised to be together forever. I'm so happy for them and this new adventure they're about to take together. Almost exactly a month ago from today I met up with Austin and Jenna to take their formal pictures. It's always so smart to do before the big day so you can have control of the lighting, get all the shots you want and not have to stress on your big day. We met up at the Draper temple to begin their session and photograph the "first look!" With the time crunch and their budget being stretched pretty thin, Jenna didn't have a bouquet for their pictures. Whitney to the rescue! Fun fact; if I wasn't a photographer I would LOVE to be a florist! So I went to Costco Wednesday morning (the day of the shoot) and grabbed a couple ten dollar bouquets and spent the afternoon arranging the flowers into an arrangement for their pictures. Their wedding colors are Navy, Burgundy and Cream - given the time crunch and only being able to create something from the selection at Costco's, I'm pretty please with how it turned out.
We took our time walking around the temple to get all the shots we needed. This also included bypassing a youth group waiting to go inside to do baptisms. By the time we ended back on the south side, the light was beautiful and golden! We finished up at the temple, got in our cars and raced down the hill towards the gated community that Jenna's grandpa lives in. She wanted to take pictures at the park inside his neighborhood. Chasing the last bit of light, we were able to shoot around the gazebo, weeping willow and creek. On our way back to the car, we saw three stray black kittens dive past us and hide in the ivy on the bank of the creek. Poor things were so good at hiding we weren't able to rescue them. The last place I wanted a few shots at was just up the hill in the Walmart parking lot! Call me crazy, but it has one of the best views of the valley and the temple at the same time. We were blessed with the glowing lights of the temple and a spectacular sunset. Talk about the longest day of shooting, but so worth it! I can't wait to finish off today with a celebration of their love. Enjoy my favorites from their session.
