I blinked and it was November. I love this time of year when everyone sits back and reflects on what they are thankful for. People come together with goodwill and an extra pep in their step. Now that Jones is old enough to grasp being thankful, I want to be able to teach him and Fields to be gracious and thankful of all their blessings. For November, my family and I are participating in the 30 days of gratitude. Essentially you write down at least one thing you are thankful for each day. I wanted this project to not only be a family activity, but a personal goal as well. To do this, I have two methods. 

     The first, is this Grateful Tree that I got at Target, last year. Everyday, I am going to sit down with my family and write something we are all thankful for on a leaf. It is hanging in our entry way and is one of the first things you see when you head out the door. 

     As for my personal 30 days of gratitude, my plan is to sit down each night, after the kids are in bed, and write in this little gratitude journal I made. (I watercolored the graphic on the cover) This is just for me, no fancy facebook post or story in my Instagram, just a personal declaration of all that I have to be thankful for. I'm really big on documenting and leaving my footprint for my children, and this will be one of the little goodies I hope they stumble across one day. 

     I hope through this month of gratitude a habit will be formed and my family and I will remember to be thankful year round instead of just for a month. Do you and your family do anything special for Thanksgiving? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to add to this tradition.
