I am so lucky to be surrounded by so many creative people. Tiffany is neighbor and friend, and an incredibly talented seamstress. She started sewing when she was shown a bunch of PDF patterns on the internet after she had Lucy. That got her really excited about the possibilities and accumulating a stash of fabric. She is amazing at following patterns and having things turn out beautifully. Tiffany makes all kinds of clothes for herself and her kids. I just assume that whatever she is wearing is handmade by her! Ha! (in fact, she made the jumpsuit she is wearing!) Her favorite thing to sew are dresses. Tiffany loves being able to alter them to her style and taste - especially when it comes to adding pockets and making them maxi dresses. The day I came over to photograph her, she was working on a new top for herself. Another time I came over and she was making her daughter a pair of jeans! (It helps to have such a talented mom when you are a petite little girl!) I asked Tiff if her kids appreciate and realize how lucky they are to have a mom who is so good at sewing? To which she replied, "It depends on what I make." Tiffany made her daughter this adorable bomber jacket out of a velvet/velour type material that does not get the love it deserves. 

     With three young kids at home, Tiffany turned one of the rooms in their basement into her sewing room. While there her son picked up his jar of buttons and started sewing them onto some fabric Tiff had. Once it was sewn on, he grabbed his small pair of scissors, cut it off and exchanged it for a new button for the jar. I loved seeing how Tiffany included her kids into something that she loves and enjoys for herself. While sewing a seam, her son climbed up on her lap and helped pull pins out as she went. It was the sweetest thing and got me thinking that I could have Jones help more whenever I pull out my sewing machine.
