I know I say this all the time, but I love photographing seniors! It's such an exciting time in your life and I am honored to be able to document it. This session was extra special, as Tasia is my niece! She and her mom drove up from Manti just for this photoshoot. We even got to have a little bonding time before the shoot while I did Tasia's hair. Fall had just started popping around the canyons and slowly creeping into the valley. I knew Temple Quarry would be the perfect location. When we arrived I was relieved to see vibrant hues along the trails. There were lots of other photoshoots happening, so Tasia and I went exploring to find our own spot. Working our way towards the dried riverbed we crossed it and discovered a whole untouched side of the park. And we had it all to ourselves. It was beautiful and we spent most of our time over there taking in the scenery and laughing our way through the photoshoot. Tasia is very confident in her weirdness and embraces it wholly. For every "classic smiling" picture there were at least double "Tasia face" pictures. Because senior pictures are meant to showcase who you are and what you are like in this stage of life, I kept most of the "Tasia face" pictures in the gallery. It even helped get some good, real smiles too! Especially when I'd react to whatever face Tasia would pull and then she'd laugh at me! We had so much fun out on the mountain. I always like to take a few jumping pictures to loosen my subjects up and get them excited about their session. (I also use that as an ice breaker and to get them laughing when we look at the screen at how they jump!) In true Tasia fashion, she had her own take on the jump pictures. The outcome? Looking like she was possessed or getting beamed up to the alien space ship. So great! We ended the shoot with a quick shirt change and shot closer to the parking lot. It was also there that Tasia decided the rocks would be a perfect set up to recreate the Little Mermaid. We had so much fun at the shoot and I had the hardest time narrowing down which images to blog! What pictures are your favorites?
