Sometimes, the list of possible options for what you can wear is overwhelming. If that's the case for you, here are a few guidelines to follow when picking out your look.

1. Now is not the time to try out a new hairstyle.

     Unless you are sure you're going to love it, I'd advise against doing something crazy with your hair. There's always the slight chance you won't like it and it will forever be immortalized in your family pictures. 

2. Avoid throwing the kids in the same striped shirt.

     I'm all for matching the kids, but if they wear the same striped shirt the lines will lead your eye right off the image. it'll be too distracting to look at the faces in the picture!

3. Neon Colors.

     Unless you're going for an 80's vibe, shy away from neon colors. They don't photograph well and end up casting color up onto your faces. It is extremely hard to edit out a neon green chin!

4. Something that you don't feel comfortable in. 

     At the end of the day, these pictures are going to reflect how YOU felt. If you don't feel comfortable in your outfit, it will translate into the pictures. Not to mention that is all you're going to think about when you look at them.
