When Jamie and I first started e-mailing each other to discuss her session I had no idea just how close we were to each other. We met up at the local Beans and Brew for our pre-consultation/planning session. The first thing she says to me is, "I'm your neighbor!" And not just a in-the-same-neighborhood kind of neighbor, I'm talking like 3 houses apart from each other! It turns out that our other neighbor (across the street from Jamie) gave her my info when they were talking one day about how Jamie needed to get Ethan's senior pictures done, as well as family pictures. We clicked instantly and I began to get so excited as we figured out what the shoot would look like. Thanks to Antelope Island being covered in biting gnats, we opted to head to Saltair. Since we were doing a "double" session (Ethan's senior pictures as well as a family shoot) I told them to arrive at Saltair at 7 pm so we would have plenty of time to shoot. (It would also be both of our first times going there!) Well, we must've both been thinking the same thing because 6:30 pm on the day of the shoot rolls around and we found out we both had gotten there early so that we wouldn't be late. It was still pretty bright out, but we got started anyways and just hung around the building - only to find out that that was where the biting gnats liked to hang out too. We were so itchy from them getting us as well as the anticipation of getting us. We discovered that they were practically non-existent out on the sand. So that's where we headed. Once out there we found this awesome piano someone had left out in the open. It matched the vibe of Ethan and Kade perfectly! As we waited for the sun to set a little more we hung out and got to know each other a bit better. I love these guys and am so happy we finally got to meet and that I could take these special pictures for them! The best yet is that I see them all the time as I go to and from home! It makes me so excited for summer when everyone is outside more! We got so many amazing pictures at the shoot, it was so hard to narrow down which ones to put in a blog post! Enjoy!
