If you've worked with me before, you know how passionate I am about printing your pictures - that's why every package is made up of prints and products to get your photos off your hard drive and onto your wall. I've been (slowly) spotlighting each of the products that I offer in order to educate you and future clients about them. Today on the docket; Mounted Prints.

Let me start off by saying, like everything I offer, my prints are printed by a professional photo lab that offers archival quality prints. (That means that these suckers will last! Just think how cool it is that your grandkids will be able to look and hold these images) My mounted prints come standard on anything 8x10 and larger. What that means is that my photos are printed on their archival quality paper and then mounted onto a layer of styrene.

But why the extra step? To put it bluntly; longevity. Have you ever gotten a poster framed? Despite being all snug up in the frame, the poster will bubble and ripple thanks to gravity. This happens with your prints too. Even little 8x10's are no match for gravity and a flimsy sheet of paper. With the styrene mount your photos are not going anywhere.

One of the questions that comes up a lot is, "Will it fit in my frames?" The answer is yes! Most frames already come with a layer of cardboard in them already, just pluck that baby out and you are good to go! You do have to be mindful of the extra width when picking out frames however. Some cheap frames are just made for a single piece of paper - but I've found those to be lacking in quality anyways. (I'm in the process of working with some custom framing options that will hopefully be rolling out soon!)
