Hey fam, this is me. The face behind the camera. Every so often I like to throw out "about me" posts. I like to think of it as a way to speed date for a photographer. If you read my last blog post about mistakes people make when booking a photographer, one of the points I touched on was not considering your photographer's personality. My job is to tell the real story of your family and I can't do that if you think I'm annoying or weird. ha. I'm also a weirdo who likes knowing random facts about people, and if you're my kind of people, you'll like it too ;)
- I don't like beans and tomatoes solely based on the texture.
- I have tried countless times to go an entire day without stepping on a crack. I usually make it about midday before I forget or it is unavoidable.
- I keep a physical "bucket list" that I started 10 years ago. I've been adding to it and crossing stuff off ever since. (To really date it, one of my "bucket list" items is getting Whitney Beth Photography into the phone book! haha!)
- Ever since I was little my answer to "what do you want to be when you grow up" was always something in the creative field; cartoonist, children's book author and illustrator, etc.
- My grandpa used to always give me and my cousins two dollar bills. Whenever I come across one in the wild it's my happy little reminder of him.
- I love home improvement projects and have tackled all the ones in our house solo or with a baby strapped to me.
- I love my flower garden and have been slowly planting and incorporating all my favorite plants from my childhood homes in Oregon.
- My favorite color combo is blue and green.
- My siblings favorite story to tell is the time I was beating up my younger brother, Austin, with a butterfly net. I had him pinned in a corner and he started laughing. This only infuriated me more. Only to turn around to see my dad had walked in. I immediately dropped the butterfly net and sent myself to my room.
- My favorite place to visit when I go back to Oregon is the coast. All I want to do is play in the sand and walk along the shore the entire day.
- My favorite activity to do with my sisters and mom is to go to garage sales and the DI! We love the thrill of finding the unexpected.
- Danny and I's biggest difference is what we deem "recyclable." aka I recycle everything I can, and he grumbles when I make him pull pop cans out of the garbage. haha!
- My least favorite plant is a bonsai tree. Mainly because we used to have an elderly neighbor in Oregon who would have me come water his trees while he was on vacation. Bonsai trees are very finicky about their water schedule and have to be watered until they start to drain from the bottom. The average time it took for that to happen was about 20 seconds. Now multiply that by 75 and it took f o r e v e r.
and that's me. The Oregon grown, recycling lover of plants, tormenting my kid siblings and happy little reminders, photographer.
