I'm a sucker for a good party. Especially a well planned and decorated one. (In fact, my Pinterest is proof of that!) Decorating for parties is one of my guilty pleasures in life. So when I found out that four of my friends that live in my neighborhood were due with babies within weeks of each other, I was so excited! First, because babies everywhere! and Second, because hello baby shower! With that many mama's I knew we'd have to do one big party if we wanted a good turn out for them. I enlisted the help of my friends, Brittany, Haley and Tiffany and we got to planning! After figuring out a Saturday that would work for all four mamas, and then finding another Saturday thanks to me catching the actual flu, we had a date set! We anticipated a lot of foot traffic so I volunteered to host - which worked out wonderfully since I was also in charge of decorations. To keep it casual we decided to have an open house. Brunch food was prepared and with the help of more friends and neighbors, we had more than enough food! With four mamas, we didn't want anyone to feel overwhelmed with getting gifts, so we put on our invitation the option to contribute to a group gift. We had such a great response to it that we were able to get each mama a cute basket filled with lots of goodies like a jelly cat stuffed bunny, copper pearl hat, "I am a child of God" board book, swaddles, wipes, diapers and more! In keeping with the casualness of an open house, I had a little table set up where people could fill out "wishes for baby" and "advice for mama." Aubrey wasn't able to attend due to some unexpected circumstances and sick, flu ridden kids. We missed her, but made sure she got all of the presents after the party. Overall, the shower was a hit and we succeeded in showering these mamas with love, food and lots of goodies for their new arrivals.
