During slow season I like to give myself projects and things I want to work on in upcoming sessions. This year, I want to incorporate more "play" into my family shoots. Lyndsay and her son, Thomas were amazing and agreed to be my models, and boy did they deliver! I've known Lynds since she and her family moved to Newberg back when I was a senior(?) in high school. In fact, I even roomed with her sister Raechal our freshman year of college at BYU-Idaho. I reached out to Lyndsay back in the fall and asked if she'd want to help me out. Luckily for me, she said she'd love to. Lynds warned me multiple times that Thomas was a pretty active little guy and loved to do his own thing. Let me tell you, she was not kidding! Thomas made us work for every shot that we took! But it was exactly the type of practice and play I wanted to introduce in my pictures. Every photo I took was of some game we were playing - and most of the time we just followed Thomas around. It was so fun! We only shot for about half an hour because, two year olds. ha. (But that's what I was planning on anyways.) Sugarhouse Park was perfect! We parked at one of the lots on the hill - away from the water and playground (had to make sure we got rid of the distractions and the temptation to go swimming!) and hung out in our own, private grove of pines. There was a field on either side of it, and I think Thomas had fun playing in the snow and running around! I loved getting to catch up with Lynds and am so thankful she and Thomas came out to play!
