Lincoln is 8! He has decided to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. With all the temple grounds being closed and social distancing still in effect, we met up at Victor's Pond for his baptism pictures. It was a much needed break for me to get out of the house and photograph during my favorite time of day. Lincoln is actually my nephew. I even took his newborns before I was officially his aunt! I remember being so proud of them and thinking it was my best work yet - I'm sure it was, but now, I'm pleased to say that these pictures (8 years later) are my best work yet. While we walked around and talked during our photoshoot I told him that he had it pretty good with his pictures. When I photographed his oldest brother, Asher, it was a brisk (freezing) fall day and we hurried to and from the car to get warm. One of my favorite memories from Asher's shoot was when we were hiking up a hill and he said, "Aunt Whitney, did you bring me out here to murder me??" Linc's older sister, Scarlet's shoot wasn't much warmer, in fact, the opposite. Scarlet requested "snow" for her pictures - so one very cold February Saturday we drove all the way up to Jordan Pines and spent about 45 minutes falling through thigh deep snow whenever we strayed from the invisible "path" amongst the snow flurries and pines. Lincoln and I enjoyed our warm, 65 degree evening with golden sunlight and ducks wandering about. Linc is such a stud and I'm so happy that I was able to document this milestone for him. (Documenting milestones seems to be the only way I can see family lately anyways!) Congrats Lincoln! We are all so happy for you!
