My baby is one! I'm still in denial about it all. I've been planning his party since January and knew I wanted to have a paper airplane theme. Since Covid is still a thing, Mr. Fields wasn't going to get the huge party I had originally planned, but luckily we were able to have groups of 20. This wouldn't be a problem for the average family, but since Danny and I come from large families we couldn't have everyone there at once. We opted for an open house type of party so that we never exceeded the 20 people max at a time. I made up Fields' invitation and sent it out. It says, "Time flies when you're having fun, our little Fields is turning one!" When people started to arrive I had them write a letter to Fields on his 18th birthday and put it in a box. (I did the same thing for Jones' 1st birthday too!) To keep the kids entertained, I made a target practice board and set up a table with construction paper for everyone to make paper airplanes and try and get the highest score. It worked surprisingly well at keeping everyone occupied. We waited for both grandmas and grandpas to be there and then we sang to Fields and had him eat his cake while I passed out cupcakes. I learned from his cake smash that he'll actually eat it if he has a spoon or fork to use! Then we opened presents and said goodbye to everyone that came. It worked out so well and I think Fields had a fun time at his birthday!
