Father’s Day 2020 | Whitney Beth Photography | Utah Family Photographer

My kids are so lucky to have Danny for a dad. A week or so ago when we were taking pictures in the poppies Danny said these counted for his Father’s Day pictures haha! He is not only patient with me and all my picture needs, but is the best dad to our boys. Always down to play and adventure. He’s the reason Jones even knows any Pokémon names and wrestling moves, and why Fields prefers to give bones when saying hi.

I asked him what he wanted for Father’s Day this year and was so happy to have been given a request! Usually it’s  an “I don’t know.” This year, Danny asked for a shed. I know it may not seem very exciting, but actually it is! We’ve been talking about getting a shallow shed for awhile now. It would go on the side of our house and hold all our holiday decorations and camping gear. You may be thinking, “Isn’t that what a garage is for?” And yes - to most people. For us, and the last five years we’ve lived in our house our garage has been halfway between studio and storage. If you’re new around here, Danny is a potter and I teach art classes (pre corona.) We have three wheels, 3 kilns, and a whoooole lot of art supplies. Last year, since I had Fields so close to when I usually do art classes I took the summer off. We quickly learned that having weekly art classes helped keep our studio clean. For the past year it has turned into a catch all and is so cluttered and unworkable.

By getting Danny the shed, we finally have a place to put stuff and start the great purge of 2020! (It also helps that donation centers are now open again!) I quickly roughed up a sketch to give us a starting point to gameplan with, and it made me so excited to organize! I’ll be sure to take lots of before an afters (of course!) But I am so excited to make this headway!
