Kuwahara Pumpkin Patch | Whitney Beth Photography

It's that time of year! I love all the things surrounding fall - especially pumpkin patches! Danny and I have been coming to Kuwahara's pumpkin patch since Jones was a baby! This is our fourth year of me shoving my kids into piles of pumpkins to get a picture, and I love it! My favorite reason for going to Kuwahara - besides the incredible array of pumpkins is that they have greenhouses! This might not seem like that big of a deal, but to this fall loving photographer - it is a dream. You see, green houses equal giant diffusers! AKA amazing, even light that you can shoot in ANY time of day. We usually go in the early afternoon because the morning crowd has gone to eat lunch and put kids down for a nap and the evening crowd hasn't joined us yet. Less people (which is great for a pandemic anyways) and more room for fun and pictures! Danny's a good sport and puts up with all the photos - but I know my audience and I usually can only get away with one spot for family pictures on my tripod and remote. Luckily they all did pretty good! Fields had the time of of his life. He wasn't mobile last year so he took full advantage of his range of motion and spent the whole trip tottering around with a pumpkin. Jones also loved that Fields was loving it - because that meant fewer pictures for him (stinker.) After a few minutes of pictures and checking out all the different pumpkins, we let the boys pick out a pumpkin. Lucky for me they always go straight for the mini pumpkins. I also wanted some green Frankenstein pumpkins so we got a wagon which was Fields' second favorite part. (Poor little guy was pooped from carrying his pumpkins all over the patch.) Since it's Utah, and still September it was hot! Way too hot for the usual flannel and beanie that you picture during autumn. After the car was loaded we stopped to get snow cones on our way home. Such a perfect ending to the start of our fall festivities!

(He's not happy.)
