Woodland Themed Nursery | Salt Lake City Family + Senior Photographer

The nursery is finally done! One of the amazing things I'm blessed to be able to do is have a room designated to being the nursery. I love interior design (ok, I love basically anything creative, let's be real) and creating this save space for my sweet little one. When I was pregnant with Banks, I had planned on his room being "Pine Tree" themed. After he was born sleeping and we got pregnant with this little rainbow, I knew I wanted to pay homage to this guys' big brother in heaven. I decided on "Woodland" as the theme for this nursery and incorporated pine trees and forest green wherever I could. Being an Oregonian I have a deep love for nature and the outdoors. (Jones' room is all about hot air balloons and mountains.) Merging pine with the aspen trees found in Utah was my inspiration behind everything. - And to be frank, whenever we get around to having another little babe, kids are going to have to start sharing rooms and woodland flows so so well with hot air balloons and mountains. ha. Most everything was either thrifted, gifted or made. The only things "new" in the room are the recliner - which is from Jones' nursery, the rug and fabric bins (Target.) One of my favorite finds are the legit mid century modern brass birds flying above the closet. I found the three pack at the DI for only $1! They remind me of similar birds my grandma has back home in Oregon.

Being able to make this space has been so therapeutic. As most of you know, this sweet babe that I am carrying is my rainbow baby. His big brother, Banks was born sleeping at 26 weeks and their big sister Peyton I miscarried around 12 weeks. He is such a blessing and answer to prayers. As far as pregnancies go, this has been pretty uneventful (minus my run in with kidney stones at 17 weeks) but this mama's heart has been all over the place. To know that life is so fragile and is so hard to get here was unnerving. Diving into projects gave my soul peace and I was able to create a room that brought hope and love and peace instead of hurt and reminders. It is currently my favorite room in the house. I love the feeling I get when I walk in and sit down in the chair and dream of rocking my little rainbow to sleep.
