It’s done. Halle-freakin’-lujah! Even though it was a lot of work, it was also a lot of fun. Interior designing and all the DIY that comes with it is like another outlet and release for me. It helps me get closer to this little babe while he’s growing inside me. I love pouring myself over inspiration on the internet and finding that one theme that really “clicks” with this baby. I also like my themes to be cohesive with siblings - in the event that they’ll share rooms in the future. With that as my guidelines, and “adventure/hot air balloons” and “woodland” as big brother’s past nursery themes, I settled on a similar feel and went with mountains and ferns.

I’m also super into making things with meanings and symbolism behind them. Call me a sentiment. For instance; each kid’s baby quilt (with the exception of Jones, since he was the OG) has a piece of leftover fabric from the older siblings’ quilt. This baby has pine trees quilted into the mountain scene as remembrance of his big brother, Banks, who would have had a pine tree themed nursery. It also has a mountain scene that is reminiscent of our view from our house of the mountain range to the east. 

The ferns were pressed in my childhood books and brought back from Oregon by my family when they visited for spring break. Wooden cars and toys are scattered among baskets that were made by uncles. And like I mentioned before; everything was made with the intention of cohesion of sibling rooms. I love it all. A room with a story and made especially for this sweet, little rainbow babe.
